DHEA is a naturally occurring steroid hormone secreted by the adrenal glands. Circulating DHEA is used by many tissues such as skin, bone, ovaries and testes. It converts to other hormones such as oestrogen and testosterone in both men and women which are then used for a wide variety of physiological processes. DHEA production declines with aging as well as due to stress, some medications, dieting or adhering to a vegetarian diet. Supplementing can help compensate for the decline in DHEA, improving body composition1, supporting healthy aging, ongoing health, vitality and libido2**
